LiamLiam stood in front of Prudence's door, dressed in the black suit he'd intended to wear to the dance and leaning on his cane. He'd intended to go, but his leg had been causing him so much pain that he couldn't have even get out of bed. Today it was much better though, and he was determined to make it up to Prudence... supposing she'd even see him. He still wasn't sure how things stood between them after what he'd done to her. Clearing his throat softly, he leans a bit more on his cane and knocks on her door, his black-silver ring glinting in the light.

PrudenceMost of her belongings were unpacked and ready to be used if needed. Only thing she had left to do was arrange her books on to the shelf in her new dorm room. She began taking them out of the box when she heard a knock on her door. She wasn't expecting anyone, she only really spoke to a handful of students here. "Just a second please." Placing the stack of books she had in her hands on the nightstand, she made her way to open the door for whoever it was. "Yes, can I help..." Her voice cuts off as her eyes meet with who was behind the door. She stood there for awhile before lowering her head and moving aside, inviting him to enter her room.

LiamLooking away from her to the floor nervously, he adjusts the black tie around his neck before speaking. "Ah, good evening Prudence.... Listen, I ah.... I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it to our date last night, and I... well, I just.... I wanted to, I don't know, make it up to you, somehow... maybe...." Readjusting his grip on his cane, he bows as low as he can while still keeping his balance. "I understand if you want nothing to do with me. Just say the word, and I'll excuse myself and leave you be..." He felt an odd tightness in his heart, expecting her to cast him away but deeply hoping she wouldn't. "If you'd trust me, I... I have a surprise for you, in one of the spare rooms in the castle. My effort to make up our date to you, if you would accept..." He dare not look up, afraid to see something in her face or stance that would confirm the fears inside himself.

PrudenceShe looked over to him out of the corner of her eye as he spoke. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, or that he stood her up at the dance, it was just awkward feeling since they never had talked about what had happen. Taking notice of the suit he was in she let out a soft sigh, "Should I change into something formal as well?"

LiamContaining his chuckle at her sigh, he straightens out and proffers a nervous smile. "You don't need to, though if you want to I will not object. Or if you believe I'm overdressed, I will return to my room and change, then come back if you'd like?" He didn't want the effort he'd put into the surprise to be wasted, but if she wanted nothing to do with him, after what he'd done? Well, he couldn't blame her.

Prudence"I still have the dress you bought for me you deserve at least the chance to see it being worn, give me a few minutes?" She lightly pushed the door closed as she walked over to her closet. The dress hadn't been worn since the dance and even then, only for a short hour. Draping her current clothes on her bed, and slipping into the white dress. Then made her way over to the dresser she took out a black choker that had a red rose pinned to it and removed her current one, her gaze avoided the bite marks still visible on her neck. Lastly she brush over her black hair to the side and tied it in a pony tail.

All of this took about five minutes, since she didn't want to keep him waiting, she opened the door and stepped outside and closed the door behind her. The shawl of the dress still folded in her arms since she wasn't sure if she needed it.

LiamHe patiently waited outside her door, grateful that she was even giving him this opportunity. During his brief wait, he ran over the preparations he'd made at the castle, making sure he hadn't missed a thing. He was slightly worried in the regard that he wasn't sure of her tastes and preferences, but he banished such minor worries from his mind. If he didn't, he'd lose his nerve at this point and make a run for it. Thankfully, she opened the door at that moment and... he swore his heart stopped in his chest for a moment. She was absolutely beautiful, even more so than he'd imagined when he'd purchased the dress. Only after a few moments of staring did he realize that his jaw had fallen open somewhat. Quickly closing his mouth, he rubbed his hand over his face in a vain attempt to wipe the awe from it before offering her his arm. "Uhm... wow, Prudence, you're.... stunning." His voice sounded airy and thin, not good. Clearing his throat, he notices she isn't wearing the shawl and rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. "Erm, did I say your surprise was at the main castle? Come to think of it, that shawl might not be enough... we could stop by my room, grab a cloak? Ah, no, that might not be the best idea, what with... oh heavens, I sound like a mess, don't I?" Tugging gently on his ponytail to shut himself up, he re-offers her his arm.

PrudenceShe let out a soft giggle, he was bubbling like a nervous child. Stepping forward she places her hand on his arm. "What ever you feel is best. You're suppose to be surprising me, so I'm at you mercy for the night it seems." A joking tone escapes from her mouth.

LiamHe finally allows himself a chuckle, nodding and smiling down at her. "In that case, I will stop by my room on the way and fetch a cloak for you, miss." Gesturing simply with his head and cane, he starts heading for his room, enjoying the feel of her hand on his arm even through his suit. As they walked though, he acknowledged that he did owe her an apology. "Listen, Prudence... about what happened between us, I'm deeply sorry. I don't entirely know what came over me, I've never craved blood before, and I don't typically.... I partially blame it on nearly bleeding myself dry for an assignment, but all the same... I shouldn't have attacked you like that, and while I wish that didn't affect things between us, I hold no illusions that that is the case." He keeps his voice low so as not to disturb any students in their rooms, and also out of shame.

PrudenceThe smile slowly faded from her face at his words and her hand gripped his arm tighter. The thought of what had happened was still scarred into her memory and made her skin crawl. She shook away the thoughts quickly, knowing that if she thought about it for too long, second thoughts would over come her about leaving with him. "It was a frightening experience for me, and I can't say that I haven't had any nightmares about fearful look on your face, but none the less, I'm happy see see you looking some what well again Liam"

Liam"I am still very sorry, Prudence.... I cannot begin to do enough to make that up to you...." As they arrive at his room, Liam gently extricates his arm from her, opening his door and hobbling inside quickly to fetch a silvery cloak from his trunk. On his way back out, he had a bit of difficulty closing his door at first but he managed after a brief fuss. With no ado, he casts the cloak around her shoulders and offers her his arm again. His nerves are still high, but his current focus is not hurting himself with his damn cane or troubling Prudence too much with his still-slow hobble of a walk. Just because his leg was many many degrees better than it had been, he still needed his cane as a precaution if nothing else. With a slight nod, he sets off for the front door of their dormitory with her hand in the crook of his arm again.

PrudenceCovering her mouth in her shawl was the only thing she could do to not to laugh at his fumbling over his door since it would have been very rude, and only serve to make him even more uneasy. The cloak carried his scent causing her to smile as she retook his arm, "Thank you, and I think it would be best if we saved this talk for another time. So what do you have planned for me tonight?" It was an attempt to change the subject, but she was also curious about what he was up to.

LiamLiam was grateful that she didn't want to pursue this dreary topic anymore at the moment. Her interest in what he'd managed to pull off was also a very good sign. "It wouldn't be much of surprise if I told you, would it? Rest easy in knowing that this is meant to account for my absence the other night." He leans over, with only slight wobbling, and kisses the top of her head. As they reach the dormitory door, he pushes it open with a shadow tendril and closes it the same way once they're through. How fortunate, it's not too terribly cold after all.</i> he thinks, glancing up at the beautifully bright moon. "You make even the moon look dingy and dull, my dear." His words are barely more than a mumble and a blush creeps into his cheeks at the sappy nonsense that just leaked from between his lips, but the compliment had been genuine and he hoped she took it as such.

PrudenceA bright red blush flushed across her face at his words of compliment. "You're much too kind Liam." She smiled as she spoke this words, her eyes also fixated on the night sky above them. "Shall we be off then?"

Liam"Indeed we shall." The trip to the castle was swift and silent, albeit comfortably so. Using the same tendril trick on the door to the castle, he leads Prudence away from the main foyer and through a small side door tucked off to the side. The room wasn't too terribly large, but it was big enough for a candlelit table for two set for dinner, and plenty of space besides. In the corner was something covered in a black cloth, but Liam steered them towards the table first. "Surprise!" He says softly as he pulls out a chair for her.

PrudenceTucking the cloak behind her as she sat in the pulled out seat, taking great not to sit and possibly ruin it. She was a little bit embarrassed that someone would go through such lengths to set up something like this, but she covered it up by looking around the room. The dark cloth did catch her gaze for a moment but not long enough for her to want bring it up right now, and would wait to see it's importance later. She then turn her gaze to Liam and followed him, curious as to what he'd do next.

LiamStooping with a bit of trouble, Liam produces a silver covered platter from beneath the table and sets it in the middle. "If I remember correctly, you're partial to sweets, yes? Heh it would be a mess if you weren't, this is all I could get my hands on in short notice..." Removing the dome-shaped cover, he reveals a splendid cake with white frosting and pink and orange decorations. "Do you like it?" Setting the covering on the table, he hides his available hand behind his back and crosses his fingers, wary of any error on his part.

PrudenceHer face lit up with joy as the cover of the dish was pulled away to reveal the adorably decorated cake. Her eye traced over every bit of detail of it before looking back at him with her bight wide smile. "Oh it's so beautiful, I love it."

LiamSmiling and releasing the breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, he cuts her a slice of the cake and delicately sets it before her before making his way to the black cloth in the corner. Casting it aside, he fiddles with the contraption beneath it for a few moments, his body obstructing her view. As he steps away, soft orchestral music begins filling the room from the gramophone that he'd procured for this. Returning to the table, he seats himself across from her and lets his eyes droop, sipping from a cup that had already been set out and filled before they'd arrived. "I requested a dance of you, but I figured dinner - or at least, dessert - should be warranted first. I'm glad this arrangement, such as it is, has pleased you."

PrudenceShe continued to stare at the slice of cake as he walked away. Her eye's filled with adoration at the thought that someone went through all this for her, and almost a little bit of regret that she was suppose to eat this. Picking up the fork next to her, she cut a small piece of the cake and placed it in her mouth, it was so sweet, he really knew how to spoiler her. Suddenly the room was filled with music, turning to face the direction Liam had wandered and noticed the gramophone beside him and smiled as he made his way back to the table. "Thank you Liam for inviting me out tonight, everything really is wonderful, and I'll gladly accept your offer of a dance, If you don't mind dancing with someone who doesn't know how." A little bit embarrassed she turned her gazed downward back to the slice of cake in front of her.

LiamHe laughed sincerely, a soft and light sound, gesturing at her with his cup. "As it so happens, I'm moderately versed in dance - one of the few perks of my upbringing - so you can simply follow my lead... once you've finished your slice of cake that is." Still chuckling, he falls silent and casts his eyes down into his cup, swirling the contents as he mirthlessly recounts in his head the 'perks' of his upbringing; he could count them on one hand. Shrugging, he downs the remainder of the contents in a single gulp before getting up and going around to Prudence, offering her his hand and disregarding her half-eaten cake.

PrudenceShe sat there for awhile cutting a few more bites, he's only brought up his upbringing twice, the first time was a slip of the tongue, other then that she really didn't know anything about Liam or his family, or even where he was from. She looks up at his as he scoots from the table and walks around to her, offering his hand when he reaches her. Accepting his hand and stands up as he leads her away, she questioned if she should asked, but seeing as she really didn't know much about herself before being taken in by Elizabeth it wouldn't be fair.

LiamBringing her to the empty space between the table and the gramophone, he twirls her absently into his arms, one palm alighting on her waist and the other gently clasping hers. Without taking his eyes from hers, he guides her through the steps with ease. Forward, backward, side to side they dance in the dim lighting from the candles on the table and the moon coming in through the windows. "You're a natural, my dear." His words are soft, and the smile on his lips is matched in his eyes. Liam is incredibly happy, for the first time in what feels like a very long time. His prior retrospection on his past, on his wrongful attack of Prudence, all of that is abandoned in a dark corner of his mind as he watches her sway and move in tandem with him.

PrudenceShe was nervous about dancing with him, mostly out of fear of stepping on his foot that was still healing, but she felt calm looking in to his eyes and smile, and it made her smile back at him before relaxing her head on his chest. "Thank you Liam for everything this year. I have to say you alone made this first year quite interesting for me. Mostly with your amazing ability to bring harm to yourself." She paused for a bit slowly stopping herself from dancing as the smile faded from her face. "Just don't go getting yourself killed... ok?" She honestly didn't want to get close to anyone while she was here, and her relationship with Liam just sort of happened, but she couldn't stand losing someone else close to her again.

LiamAs she slowed and stopped, Liam frowned slightly in concern until she spoke. Him dying? It wasn't something he'd put much thought into, but if they were being realistic, dying here was disturbingly likely. All the same, he chuckled and adjusted his grip of her, hugging her gently. "You needn't worry about me dying, at least not while we're here. I make a habit of avoiding things that want to kill me, which is actually incidentally why I'm here." Pulling away from her just enough to slip his fingers beneath her chin and lifting her head. Leaning down and gently kissing her lips, he smiles at her and lovingly plays with the end of her hair. "I will even promise that I won't die on you, okay? And you know I'm too much of a gentleman to not keep my word about that."

PrudenceThe worried look on her face faded and formed a light smile as he kissed her. "Thank you", she said in a soft voice, "And I will my best in my potion studies to ensure you keep that promise." It was said in a teasing tone but she truly honestly meant every word of it.

LiamKissing her lips again, he kept it soft and sweet though he drew it out as long as he can. Pulling away, he tugged gently on the end of her ponytail. "Let's get you back to your room, hmm? It's late. Oh, and you'll be delighted to know I also stashed a box away for unfinished cake, so you can take it back with you." Reluctantly he let her out of his arms, retrieving his cane from where he'd leaned it against the table and produced the aforementioned box from beneath the table, beginning to slip the cake off the platter into the box.

PrudenceTaking the box from his hands after he finished putting the left over cake inside it, she didn't wait to grab hold of his hand. "I know I already said it, but thank you again for inviting me out tonight. It was nice to know this dress didn't go to waste, and it was nice to spend time with you again." She leaned closer into him standing up on her toes to kiss him on the cheek, before turning to pick up the cape that was still hanging from the chair. "I'm ready to leave when you are." Turning back towards him once she was sure she had everything and smiled.

Liam"It's my pleasure, Prudence. I'm also glad that the dress didn't end up wasted, and I always love spending time with you." He gently rubbed the cheek she kissed with a soft smile before she took that hand and clasped it in hers. Nodding once she'd collected everything, he started for the small door whilst making a mental note to return here and clean up later. He squeezed her hand in his gently, eyeing the cake box out of the corner of his eye. "Would you like me to carry that for you? I'd hate for you to drop it." Not that he doubted her ability to balance things, he was just worried that some freak accident would happen and he didn't want her to be sad over spilled cake.

Prudence"I would never drop it, plus I don't believe you're in a position to offer since both your hands are currently busy." As she finished her sentence she made sure to show him the other free hand that was firmly clasped onto hers.

LiamHe smiled widely, admittedly rather pleased that she was unwilling to release his hand. Pushing the door open with his cane, he enjoys a comfortable silence as they make their away across the foyer of the castle. Opening the castle door with a tendril and closing it behind them the same way, he stops her in the midst of the castle courtyard. Propping his cane against his hip, he takes the cake from her and sets it on the ground beside them before wrapping her in his arms and kissing her lips in such a way that he hadn't done before. It wasn't demanding, but it was firm and hot. Liam kept it carefully short, though when he pulled back and smiled at her, he was finding it slightly harder to breathe. "I hope you don't mind, I ah... well, I've wanted to kiss you like that for a while, and this moment just felt right for it." Despite smiling sheepishly, he continues holding her close, enjoying being near her like this.

PrudenceShe was surprised at first by he more assertive kiss, it was different then his usual, but left her blushing. "It was surprising I'll admit, but since its from you how could I mind it." Slowly wrapping her arms around his neck, she stood there held in his embrace. She wanted the night to continue even though she still had a lot to do to get ready for the new term, and she was sure she'd being calling on Liam for assistance as her classes progressed to be more difficult for her. Deciding to worry about then then and now she pulled him in closer for another kiss.

LiamLiam was somewhat surprised by Prudence's turn for the more assertive, but he let her pull him down for another kiss, smiling slightly against her lips. The swelling warmth in his chest would have concerned him had circumstances been any different, but.... here, with Prudence, it was welcome. Unfortunately, however, that warmth heralded other less-than-stellar things. Gently pulling away from Prudence, he hugs her one last time before scooping up the cake box and taking up his cane again, offering the arm holding the cake box for her to take. He could feel the slight flush on his cheeks, but he hoped they weren't incredibly visible.

PrudenceA bit surprised by the sudden ending of their moment, but she took it as a sign it was getting late and they should end in for the night. Wrapping her arm around his, and taking care not to off balance him or knock the cake out of his hand, she was once again ready to continue with their trip back to the Blood Dormitory.

LiamThe walk back to the dormitory felt disappointingly swift, and Liam was loath to part ways with Prudence despite how much time they'd actually spent together tonight. As they come to a standstill outside her door, he sighs and smiles at her. "I wish I could stay with you longer, Prudence.... Truthfully, I wish I could hold you in my arms as I slept, but alas, I believe will settle for sweet memories turned to dreams and the phantom of your lips against mine~." Yes, he had a tendency to use more flowery speech around her, so long as no one else overheard him he wouldn't die of embarrassment. Plus, the sentiments conveyed were true enough.

Prudence"You have a special way with words as always Liam. I agree I wish our time together could have been longer, but I'll settle for waiting till your next surprise for me." Smiling as she gives him one last kiss before taking the cake box and handing him his cloak back that he let her borrow for the night. Opening her dorm door and closes it behind her.

LiamLingering outside her door for a few moments with a smile, he does eventually shake his head clear and returns towards the castle, to clean up his mess. The rest of the night, he was smiling and he kept the cloak Prudence had worn close at hand, her scent permeating from it pleasantly.
